Job Interview Tips

Well, yesterday I spent 6 hours interviewing people. And...I have some advice.

1) Don't tell looooong stories which stray far off the questions.
2) think about the questions for a few seconds before you try to fumble through an answer...
3) don't give super short answers...and sound like you are getting annoyed that they are similar to previous questions...
4) watch your use of umm/like/"you know"...
5) do I bit of research about the place you are applying for...if you didn't...don't ask dumb questions about the place...pretend you at least know something!
6) act like you actually want the job....
7) bring a portfolio, if your job is something graphic/web etc. brownie points!

we did find a couple of good people....luckily for us, we got lots of applicants!!

Thank you for the informative post.

Job interview skills are like any other kind of skill in life. You can get better by applying thought, energy, and practice. The first step to improving your job interview skills is to put the job interview process into viewpoint. During this face-to-face meeting the hiring manager will be influential whether you can perform the job the company needs and become a valuable part of the staff. As a result, each aspect of your job interview should further the case that you can indeed perform the job and that you bring a passionate professionalism to whatever job you undertake. The process of convincing your interviewer of these points takes place long before you sit down in the hiring manager's office.
